| Hi Jerry, I have done bit of research and my conclusions are (you are planning exact same route as me!) Suggest Aurangabad... arrive.... Day 1 - hire car and see Ellora and other sites around aurangabad Day two - early morning start to arrvive by car 9am ajanta caves then car to Jalagaon to depart train at 16.50 to arrrive Jhansi 3.50am following morning. thance to Khaj (are you planning to take in ORRcha on way?) Jhansi to Khaj direct buses avail -- about 4 hrs -- we plan to go to Orrcha for day (bout halfhour from Jhansi and then next day to Khaj..(car or bus not sure yet) When finished Khaj take taxi to Mahoda and train to Agra (leaves post midnigght getting to Agra ----as i recall about 8amish... Hope this helps - please ask more here or in pm... ALbert |

| PS depending on your timings it may be more appropriate for you to backtrack from Khaj to Jalgaon then go to Mahoda .. either way is pain ! Albert |

| Hi Wabat, I wouldn't know much about any way of travelling from Aurangabad to Khajuraho. Will have to wait for more feedback and/or travel as you suggested. Best wishes Jerry |

Keep an eye on indiamike, there's a train station opening in Khajuraho soon with direct trains to Agra (poor arrival time) and Delhi, the train will run 3 days a week. | |
