Around Bangalore
In an 800 kms radius around Bangalore what are the places that can be visited in late July and August? I want to avoid Monsoons and especially the hills in the monsoons because of landslides etc..
There is a distance constraint because I want to drive in my car. I want to visit Pondichery, Cochin-alleppey-munnar, hampi-badami, madurai-trichendur, ooty-bandipur and goa-karwar. No Coorg, Mysore because I've already visited these. But ooty-bandipur, cochin-alleppey-munnar, goa-karwar is ruled out because of rains. Pondichery and madurai-trichendur I heard will be hot? Hows Hampi-Badami this time? other than these places, are there any that can be visited in late july, august with the distance constraint? |

Hampi, top of the list. Outside peak summer, it is ok.
800km is a lot. That would cover Hyderabad and Warrangal too. Bandipur/Ooty/Conoor/Kotagiri is a good idea. I prefer the areas after Ooty. Not landslide prone, to the best of my knowledge. If heavy rain, be alert if taking the shorter route Bandipur/Ooty (the one with 32? hairpin bends) and avoid doing it withou an experienced hill driver. The other route is ok.
