Are we trying to do to much? We arrive in Dehli on the 21st March and join a gap adventures tour on the 23rd which finishes in Goa (not entirely sure where in Goa) on the 6th April. Our plan i then to spend a few more days chilling out in Goa, then get on a train to Calcutta and then back to Dehli. Our flight out of Delhi is on the 24th April. Does this itinerary sound a bit too ambitious? Any opinions would be welcome. Thanks

Goa - calcutta - Delhi Those are pretty far distances, i guess it depends on how long you're actually staying in Goa. Maybe take a flight from Calcutta to Delhi to save time. I myself would take the train to Mumbai from Goa and then fly to Delhi from there, instead of going to Calcutta

Any specific reason to go to Calcutta? Else my friend Goo is right, skip it. Goa to Calcutta and Calcutta to Delhi takes looooong time . Mumbai is an option, or spend more time in Delhi, maybe short visit to the Taj in Agra.

Thanks for all your replies. I really do want to go to Calcutta. In my teenage pagan days, I had quite a fansination with Kali and since have always wanted to visit a Kali temple in Calcutta. Any idea on how much flights would cost? Thanks

Goa - Calcutta by train. Sounds simple, but could drive you stir crazy. Take the plane.

| You have a month plus ,that should be OK .If you have the cash ,a plane from Goa to Calcutta is fine and will give you lots of time , but also the train in an option and it can be an enjoyable one (if a little long ) and as you are interested in Kali it is to good an opportunity to miss .As well as Kali ghat there is the Dakshineswar Kali temple which is a must .Enjoy ![]()

For goa to kolkata - an optimum option would be a train from goa to mumbai and a fight from mumbai to kolkata.

I was just buying some tickets and came across a site where they are offering air tickets for most airlines at Re 1. Add taxes of around 2900 Rs to that. That's the cheapest airfare as of now I feel. www.travelchacha.com - a new website on the blocks btw I have booked my ticket directly from flykingfisher.com to add to my king miles ,not from travelchacha.com , but the prices mentioned were same in kingfisher site also.
