Anything to see between Mumbai & Goa except Aurangabad? Hi, Title explains it all really, my partner and I have 3 months in India and land in Mumbai and fly out of Calcutta. We are going to spend 3 days in Mumbai and the 2 days in Aurangabad seeing the caves in Ajanta and Ellora then get a train down to Goa but what I wanted to ask was if there are any other places not to be missed inbetween? Thanks, Leanne.

Leanne, there's a whole world between Mumbai/Aurangabad and Goa if you want to see India, but nothing if you want to check out India's advances in space travel. Standard info is available in guidebooks, Help yourself and others, please give more info. (read the link below)

Hi! Check out these two threads: Beaches of Konkan Maharashtrian beaches I can personally recommend Tarkarli, a beach village close to the town of Malvan. It's about 2 hours from Panjim in Goa by bus. You can also get the train from Mumbai to the railhead at Kudal, then a bus to Malvan, and rickshaw to Tarkarli. Search for pictures in the IM gallery.

Even Ganpatipule and Murudh are worth a see in my opinion.

So I would have suggested something like Badami, Bijapur & Hampi. It shows that we all think differently, and all could well be wrong, that's why details are essential. I get the feeling some people just think I'm moaning when I ask for more details, and I'm certainly not going to waste any time making sure my request comes across the right way, I just don't understand why some people don't think personal preferences and details are important. Never mind, just me 'moaning' again. ![]() | |
