Hi everyone! Decisions, decisions. Well, I have an oppotunity to extend a trip through India and I need help deciding. My first option is to spend three nights at the Ananda Spa in Narendranagar. We, my boyfriend and I, woudl take the Shatabdi Express to Hardwar and then a drive to Ananda for three nights. My other option is to spend three nights in the Maldives Islands at the Bandos Resort. Next option is three nights in Kathmandu. And the final option is three nights in Varanasai and Khajuraho. I need to decide and just seems too hard.

To give you a better idea of my itinerary prior to this, we will be spending three nights in Delhi, 1 night Agra, 2 nights Jaipur, 2 nights Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, 1 night Pushkar, 1 night Jodhpur and 2 nights Udaipur.

Any and all suggestions would be extremely appreciated!! Thanks!!

Williaam when do u need or intend to be travelling in india...this would help in deceiding yr. plans...
Also maldives is not India..at least not yet.... But it is a fine place to have a holiday. the regions around ananda spa would be v.v different from the beaches of maldives or the tourist city of kathmandu.
Looking at yr. itinerary prior, I would think that u would have had a pretty hectic schedule and enough of culture/fort sghtseeing, so a nice short break at the beach might be just the right thing to do..thats if u like beaches.

Oh yeah, sorry, I knew taht the Maldives were there own country. I just forgot to mention it. Anyway, I will be travelling in Dec-Jan. I know that the mountains will be cold but I am from MN where the winters are terrible and from what I understand the temps in the mountains can dip to about 42 F which to me in the winter is almost summery! So there is a little more info. Thanks!

dec-jan is cold around the north but its also about the nicest times to be around the Rishi kesh area and thats where the Ananda spa seems to be located. Its cold but the sun comes out beautiful and u feel it on yr. skin. Its great weather. You should then make a trip to Rishi kesh and the ganga river. Further down Rishikesh, about 30 km is the holi town of Hardwar. Hardwar is a sort of Varanasi experience. Maybe in a way nicer. As we say in India.." Same Same but different but same..". Hardwar is a holi town similar in connotation and religious purposes as Varanasi for a lot of Indians. If u drive up from delhi or on yr. way back from the ananda spa these places are on yr. way.
Yes so if dec-jan then this area is a definate ++++ rating for chilling out....

Rishikesh in the winter?

Hi,
I will be in Rishikesh in the beginning of January, or so that is the plan, and I am wondering if anyone knows what kind of weather I can expect. I will actually be at the Ananda Spa which is at a little higher elevation. If anyone is familiar with the area and the temperatures in the winter please share. Thanks!

Rishikesh will be delightfully cold in Winter, with night temperatures ranging from 5 to 12 deg. C.

Rishikesh will be cold but pleasant - as long as you have some warm clothes it will be lovely.
And at Ananda Spa I'm thinking it will be especially pleasant
