Amritsar- Rajasthan how to get there ?

Best way to get from Amritsar to Rajasthan Going to the north in march 2009. Start in Delhi. Mainly going to places in Rajasthan but have heard such good things about Amritsar that I would like to go there as well. Have been searching in Trains at a Glance for a good connection but I can't figure it out. Thanks for reading, glad if you could help me out.

Train 9782 departs Amritsar (Tuesday & Thursday only) at 18.00 and gets to Jaipur at 09.35 (3A, SL.)

That's the only decent connection, but by March next year there may be more.

If you do this, take the train (9224, daily) from Makhu (15:12) to Bikaner (00:45) or Jodhpur (06:20) (2A, SL.)

Makhu is about 55-60kms south of Amritsar.

If Makhu is a serious option, I can give you more details as I used the station last year.
