Advice Requested on a South Trip

Please provide your advice on a trip I am planning for the South India in October.

My planned itinerary is:

1. Chinai
2. Tirupati
3. Tiruvannamalai
4. Pondicherry
5. Thanjuvur
6. Tirchchupalli
7. Rameswaram
8. Marurai
9. Kanya Kumari
10. Ooty via Coimbatoor
11. Goa

Advice needed on:

1. The order of the itinerary
2. Mode of transportation from city to city
3. Time needed to for each city/temple
4. Lodging recommendations

Regarding time for temples, it depends on the number of temples. Eg, do you want just Tirumala darshan or also visit Srivaari Padalu? What about temples at Tirupati like Mangapuram, Govindaraja Perumal, etc.

Same thing go for Tiruchi.

Hi Darsan,

I am completely ignorant of what exists in these cities. My goal is to experience the the local customs and the energy created by the worshipers. Considering the limited time, I plan to spend no more than 1 1/2 half at each city.

Any advice of the high lights of these place would be greatly appreciated.

Search on Google for "city wikitravel" (Chennai wikitravel). This will give a list of prominent places to be seen in that city. Select what you want to see from them.

Temples in South India are normally closed between 12:noon 00 - 4:00 pm. So you will have plan keeping that in mind.
