Advice on Short Itinerary Around Delhi

I'm trying to plan an 8 day itinerary starting in Delhi on Feb. 15. I fully understand this is an impossibly short time to see any area of India, but the timeframe is beyond my control.

My focus is to get a good sampler (spiritual, natural, cultural) in the little time we have. The only must sees we have now are Agra and a game park (probably Corbett). I'd really like to go to Varanasi, but it's distance from Delhi really messes up any short-compact loops. With the possible exception of a flight to Varanasi, we plan to travel primarily by train.

We're probably going to head North of Delhi after Agra. Are there any "Varanasi substitues", for lack of a better term, north of Delhi? Normally, how cold and snowy are the hill stations north of Delhi in late Feb?

Varanasi substitutes... Haridwar.

Go upto Rishikesh too, its hardly 35 km or so from Haridwar.

February will be cold in the hills, and higher up areas may be inaccessible. But lower altitudes in uttarakhand are no problem.

Plan a day of sight seeing in Delhi (If you have not covered it before). Akshardham Temple is a must visit place.

A day trip / 1 night stay for Agra.

2 nights for Corbett. 2 Nights for Haridwar / Rishikesh.
Balance days can be spent in any of the hill stations either around Haridwar or around Corbett. Check this websites for your options

Delhi - Agra - Corbett - Haridwar - Rishikesh - Delhi

Probably still too much for a week, but not crazy.
