Advice needed
Hi there everybody,
Know that most of you must get a bit sick of people asking for advice but here goes! As with a lot of people visiting india for the first time i shall be visiting for just a month. Would love to stay for longer but only have a month before i fly to Thailand for a further months travels. As i'm only going to be in India for a limited amount of time i want to make the most of it! I'll be flying into Delhi at the end of May and think that 1 week would be enough to take in the golden triangle, somthing that i feel is a must (what do you think??) After that a friend has recommended that at that time of year, early June, its prob best to head off to himachal pradesh, kullu, parvati and mcleod ganj, for some serious mountain chillums (sorry i meant chillins!) but i was just wondering what everybody though of this plan? I can probably fit in around 2 weeks in the mountains and then have to travel down to mombai for my connecting flight to Thailand, thought about 3-4 days in Goa before i leave? I guess my question is, does any of this sound ridiculous or does anybody have any other recommendations for places to visit during June? Should i stay less time in the mountains and more time in Goa, or is this too hot? I know a month is never nearly enough to fit everything in so have tried to not sqeeze too much in. Cheers guys, any advice would be much appreciated. |

Hi benp,
Welcome to Indiamike,,,,, Your Itinerary sounds pretty good to me, except for the Goa bit, Its getting very close to monsoon time down there then, so unless you're into that then give it a miss. Golden Triangle will be warming up but not overbearingly so & will deliver all you expect. The mountains are an excellent choice to chill out after the heat of the plains. Scratch around our search engine, you'll find lots of info on specific places, Happy Travelling |

I too will be visiting the ''Golden Triangle'' in July/June and everybody's been telling me how hot it's gonna be. It's funny how there's always people telling how awful it's gonna be ( and with reason). I've been a many trip near death valley in the US where it's friggin' hot and i got through it. That's what makes humans so incredible: how we can adapt to every situation. Yes it's gonna be hot but you'll get through it. Just like indians do it every year. Just my 2 cents...

Yes, Indians do so every year; in fact scores of Indians live there. Living in a particular place is quite different from visiting it as a tourist. Eskimos live and survive at the poles; this does not mean tourists should make a beeline there ! |

I've been living in Montreal, Canada for 15 years. Every summer we have temperatures of up to 35C with great humidy (which kinda have to do with the gorgraphical situation of the city.) Yet every winter, we have temp of -30C ( if you add the wnd factor, it can easily go down to -40C). I know that the temp in the summer in Montreal isnn't even near that of delhi, but i'm just trying to say that we dell if a difference of 50oC every year and do manage to get by. Don't take it the wrong way m8 Have a nice day ![]() |
