A Different Route?

Okay, my last post for feedback about itinerary has gone uncommented. I guess I will try the direct approach as I need to finalize reservations straight away.

I will be in Delhi starting Nov. 30 I am planning a series of trips away from there. Right now, I have a day trip by car to Agra and Sikri and a two-night stay in Varanasi. Here's what I need now...

I am torn between traveling from Varanasi to one of the following for a one night stay, I'd like your opinions for this first-time traveler as to which would be the most fulfilling experience for this spiritual seeker:

Khajuraho
Puri
Bodh Gaya

Namaste,

Easy choice really, Varanasi.

It will be difficult for anyone to advise really, you're going to spend 1 day in a new place, you've got all the travel worries to get there by bus (as you don't mention how you will get there), and from the new place back to Delhi (You don't mention anywhere else, so we have to assume).

Puri and Khajuraho are out, for you to even consider these for 1 day suggests that you've little idea of the travel involved, and I assume you've very well aware of the 'alleged' risks of going to Bihar.

All in all, an extra day in Varanasi would be the most fulfilling experience.

Thanks for the response

I appreciate the feedback. Yes, I typed ahead of my brainpower. I am flying to all of my destinations. As you noted, I've no time for trains. So, I will have two nights in Varanasi and, since my last correspondence, I've been unable to find a flight -within- India to get to Gaya (and thus onto Bodh Gaya), I will travel to Khajuraho for one night. It had always been on my "ideal" itinerary but the more I read about it, the less enamored I was becoming. I am/was unaware of "alleged risks" of travel to Bihar. While I'm not going, I'd like to know what they are/were/are not (given their alleged nature).

Anyway, thanks for the information. I am very much considering Varanasi one of the high points of my extremely swift visit.

Namaste,
JJ Kriya
