Hi!
Iam planning to go on a bike trip of three days with 3 of my lady friends sometime in the next fortnight. I am starting out from Thane[close to Mumbai] I need some suggestions on which places to visit. They should be in a radius of 200 kms. So Travelling time will be minimum. Someplace not very commercial and close to nature. Thx. |

thx
I think Bhandardhara is a nice option. I have been to Malshej Ghats and i think its a bit unwise in the monsoons. You will have to be prepared for setbacks. Though the weather now in Mahableshwar is simply glorious. I was there last weekend and its superb for a ride. Have fun. |

well Bhandardara would be biked up in just one day.what about the remaining 2 days u girls are planning? and limiting only to 200 KM radius!!! guess u will have to actually make a circle of radius 200 Kms to keep urself occupied with Bike for these three days
![]() well given a chance to me for three days i would love to go to Daman and also manage Silvassa in the same trip. Daman is a nice peaceful portuguese colony and Silvassa in the same orientation a nice(am heard) Hill Station. have not been to Silvassa but i feel it wud be good in this season. give it a try. |

Rather than limiting yourself in 200km radius, take a train and go to Goa,
rent Bikes there and enjoy Goa for 2 days and come back to Thane |

go by night train, reach there by 12 in the afternoon, stay there for 2 nights and return by evening 4.30 train and reach thane by 6am.
i just did that this extended weekend (rakshabandhan), no rain on the 2 days we went around the city. the day we were returning it did rain a bit in the morning but it was all clear by 9.00am. stayed on colva beach (longuinhos beach resort), white sand, beautiful sea front rooms, great place. as this was my first trip to goa i was a bit worried if i had chosen the right place to stay at the south tip, but after seeing the beaches of north goa (aguada, vagator, calangute) i felt i did the right choice by staying in colva. choce the resort using indiamike's hotel listing - had 2 options star beach resort and longuinhos, and got a great offer from longuinhos @ 3400/- (for a couple) for 2 nights in Std AC room with pickup and drop from Margao stn, 1 full day sight seing, breakfast and dinner, nice swimming pool, and was lucky that the resort fellows upgraded me to a Super Dlx AC Room. Would love to return back to Goa soon. Even if you go anywhere else close to Mumbai it'll rain during these days. |
