7 days in Rajasthan with rented car
7 days in Rajasthan with rented car
Hi,
In Trip to India, 16/10 to 13/11 2010. thread I described or complete itinerary.
Below I'd like to focus on Rajasthan part of the trip.
On 26/10 evening we're arriving to Jaipur.
We're departing from Jaipur to Goa on 02/11. This means 7 days / 8 nights in Rajasthan.
Our wish is to see Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur. We also want to do a dessert camel safari and if possible - see the Bikaner and the Rat Temple. I figured out the most convenient would be to rent a car with a driver. Here comes my question...
Should I book it online or rather wait until we get to Jaipur and try to get one then? I already queried few websites for the car rental rate and for 6 days trip to Jaipur - Udaipur - Jodhpur - Bikaner - Jaipur the best price I got was ~11000 Rps + 4% tax. Is this a good price?
The second question - when going for a camel safari, is it easy to get it arranged in Jodhpur/Bikaner ?
The last question (by now) - is this all doable in such a short period? If not, shall we erase Bikaner from the list?
Regards,
Bartek

Visit http://www.rajasthantourism.gov.in for most of your queries.Book early as October will be the start of peak season in Rajasthan which last till January. You may not get good and desired accommodations, if you reach there without any prior bookings.
Camel Safari can be arranged anywhere in Rajasthan, but if you want to the famed desert safari, it is possible in Jaisalemer and nearby places.

Thank you for your response - I'll take time and explore the webpage you advised.
I don't know how to move a thread to another sub-forum so I just created another thread to cover the same topic: 7 days in Rajasthan - Oct/Nov. Itinerary + other advice needed I think it's more appropriate location for my type of questions.
