5 days around mumbai or udaipur

Hiya

After some advice of course!! We have 5/6 days to spare when we finish touring from dehli to udaipur - we have that bit worked out - but on 2nd jan to the 8th jan (fly out of mumbai) we would like to relax - no more forts - wondering if there is something a bit different from goa - not super fit and like culture, food drink and something unusual.

i know its a big ask but our budget is mid to upper and thought someone might know of a good idea eg fishing village etc rather than goa tourist beaches - don't want to go too far south in goa as travelling back to mumbai - maybe a desert trip or a forest trip - just anything more exciting that 5 days in a resort in north goa???? unless someone knows a real pearl there?

Or does someone know somewher great to go on the way from udapipur to mumbai????

Any help greatfully received - sorry for the rambling!!!

Udaipur is not that far from Mumbai by road . . . Gujrat falls between . . . you seem to be into fishing, which I have no clue about, but there are a couple of interesting places which fall enroute . . . since you don't want to do sight seeing, avoid Ahmedabad, Junagadh and stuff, though the rann of kuchh might be interesting, Diu is also a very chilled island off the coast which you might enjoy, or you could go to one of the wildlife parks in Madhya pradesh, say Bandhavgarh or Kanha for a few days of forest and tigers, maybe you'll find some angling too

Will def check these out - its good to know its not too far to mumbai - the island off the coast sounds interesting.
