Hi, I will have about 4 weeks trip in India.
Arrive in Mumbai on 22:30pm,25th Jan, and back home around 21st Feb from delhi. plan to travel by train. the intinery is: mumbai--goa--cochin(backwater)--madurai--mysore--hampi--varanasi--agra--jodpur--jaisalmer--udaipur--delhi Question: 1. is 4 weeks enough for all these places?( considering the difficulty of getting train tickets) 2. if i have to omit some places, which of the above should be? ( i am also thinking to add pushkar, kolkata on the internery) 3. considering the abover intensive train travel, is an INDRAIL PASS a better way? or should i just buy ticker point to point? I know it is too greedy to put all these places on my trip, but i realy want to travel as much as i could in this short time ![]() thanks in advance for ur answers |

You're gonna be on the move.
13 places in 28 days, it's possible but it will be tough. You may want to confine your travels a bit. If you really want to do a backwater cruise, fine, but southern Kerala and Calcutta are a long ways apart. If you don't go as far south you could spent more time in Karnataka, one of my favorite states in India. You'll love your two days in Goa, and Rajasthan is great too, if I had to pick I'd go to Jaisalmer and Udaipur. If it were me I'd go mumbai-goa-mysore-hospet/hampi-udaipur-jaisalmer-delhi or something like that, spending 4 days in each place on average (not including the travel itself). But everyone's experiences are different, there's quite a bit to see and also experience in every one of the places you mentioned. Don't be too rushed, book time to enjoy yourself too and when you arrive somewhere immediately go and book your departure while you're still in the train station. It's easy and generally hassle-free. You will probably want to travel at night in a sleeper berth. Take some earplugs with you, and a sleep sheet if you travel in the standard 3-tier SL sleeper class (the way most Indians travel at night). Good luck. |
