I would start by figuring out what sorts of places interest me and building an itinerary around those. You know, some people go from bazaar to bazaar, and others from temple to temple and others from restaurant to restaurant. Which sorts of places interest YOU?
There's no itinerary that does for everyone. |

Go off the beaten track and take lots of photographs and not think of work while I'm there :-)

4 Months in India, and two of them in Goa...? Well, I've never been. Depends what you're after I'm sure. Many seem to love it there, so who am I to speak against it.
Andamans are lovely I hear but a month there might be overdoing it unless you're really into doing nothing much of anything on the beach. |

wow that was quick, i will be in goa to do some yoga at a friends
place and some watsu, i know why people say they don't like goa, but if you jump on your bike you can find very nice deserted beaches, however 'real' India its not, maybe thats the attraction, after some full on travel around India its nice to relax on a beach . |

Yes, do as you please, but for two months...?
Anyway you make it sound like you know it already. What do you need our advice for? As noted above, there is no answer to your question. Not to anywhere. (The less so since you seem to have three of those four months pretty fixed in your mind already anyway.) |

maybe i phrased my question wrong, i am interesd in what other people would do with there time in india. just to get more ideas really.
nothing apart from goa is fixed so am open to any suggestions. and you made me realize that with 2 months in goa , a month really is not needed in the Andaman's cheers |

See my post #2 above. Travel around. The options are limitless.
When I like to scuttle around obscure villages in some other country, this may not be the next person's idea of fun. Kind of thing. There really is no answer just like that. Although it would help people to have some idea of your interests I guess. |

arrive...
then take it from there...
that is what i normally do but my next trip will be retracing some of the last steps i took as i want to revisit some of the great people i met.(eg. allepi, marayoor, trivandrum etc) reading this forum also adds to ones ideas of where to go and what to do. i may even go to a yoga ashram that has been suggested in IM. |

How lucky some of you are having 4 months holiday.
If I could spend 4 months in another country I would start reading as much as possible before leaving and then reaching there I would try to lap up its history, culture, architecture, sights, sounds, smells as much as possible. |

Quote:
30 days in the Andamans could be excessive and after the first couple of weeks, monotonous. There are many places in between that are worth looking at (having been there, it's in retrospect), including: Hampi; Dalautabad; Ellora; Ajanta; many parts of Kerala and more. But you haven't given any indications of what you want to see /do; what your pleasures are; what budget you have (Mumbai will be the single most expensive place to stay). It's really tough answering questions for people or providing input when there's nothing to base responses on. If you enjoy yoga, there are many places (esp. in the South), where you can partake in yoga /meditation. But if you are set on Goa, that's your call. I'll happily provide more input, but I prefer to do so when I have something of substance to base comments and suggestions on. Cheers Zoltan |

cheers for all the input guys,
zoltan - thanks for the advice , i don't wont to sound rude or ungrateful but i was asking what other people would do with there time in india, what would be there perfect itinerary if there is such a thing. my own is subject to change if anything i like is thrown up, my main hobbies are water related, thats why Andaman, as goa is not the best for the sea quality thanks all ps why does no one seem to like goa, its not that bad Last edited by quintessential : Jul 2nd, 2008 at 18:49. Have you ever been there. Lot's of people like it. I think that's the problem.
But I like it and the more people that don't just means it will be less crowded as it is already. So keep on hating it please! |
