4 Hours in transit at Mumbai, advisable to head out to the city?
Hi all, i will be landing in Mumbai airport at 950pm and will be connecting to my next flight to Brussels only at 2.10am. Since i have got 4 hours in transit, is it advisable to head out to the city since i have already have my indian visa from the last visit to chennai 3 months ago.
The place which i was planning to head to was Marine Drive, heard that the scenery there is very nice and sort of need your advice if there will be enough time for me to head there and back to the airport to catch my flight since India's traffic are notoriously bad.
Look forward to hearing from you guys soon. Thank you.

I don't think there is enough time because for international flights you will have to be at check in three hours before departure.
If you really want to get out for a while, Juhu beach might be a better option as it is closer to the airport and there is lots of action at that time of the day.

Hi Spike, thank you for taking the time to reply to my msgs. I dont have to check in because i would have checked in for my flight from singapore to brussels at singapore itself. I will be given 2 sets of boarding passes, and besides i dont have any checked in luggages. basically i could just head into the secure area without the need for getting anymore boarding passes, will there still be enough time or you reckon its not worth the risk? Pls advice. Thank you.

Even if your plane lands exactly on time despite the air traffic congestion it will be 10:15 at the earliest that you can find yourself out side the airport. Taking a cab and rushing off to some place and return to airport may not be worth the trouble. Since you are landing in Mumbai on an international flight to go out you need to clear immigration I guess and that would take some time.
If you don't have to check in, you will have plenty of time to go to Juhu beach. I'ts only 4 km from the airport. It certainly beats hanging around at the airport ! Google Juhu beach to find out how it's like.
But it depends on the time needed for clearing immigration as jyotimoy said.

Thank you to the both of you for taking the time out to reply to my msgs. Alrite, I am doing a google on Juhu beach. Reason why i wanted to head downtown was because i chanced upon this website that talked about Dome at The Intercontinental and wanted to take some pictures and have an aerial view of the mumbai night city skyline. If i'd be in juhu beach, would there be a place like a restaurant or a cafe where i can have an aerial view of the city? Thanks once again guys, really do appreciate your help on this.

just wondering, from your experience, if i am landing at 10pm at nite in bombay and wish to take a cab to marine drive. How long will the journey take if i took a cab down to marine drive from the international airport? Do advice. Thanks.
Juhu would be your only option with that timeframe. Good luck.
And the ride from the airport to Marine drive at that time can take from 1 hour or more. Most likely 1 1/2. Not possible for you.

Alright, will go with the majority of heading to Juhu beach. I saw some nice hotels there in Juhu, is there a nice bar / restaurant where its outdoors facing the beach or the sea where i could have a nice cold kingfisher beer and enjoy the nite scene from an aerial view? I was checking the marriott hotel and that seems to be one of the few hotels that are in an active area (forgive me if i am wrong though). Any suggestions would be good. Thanks!
