3 weeks in the North
Hey everybody,
Been reading this site religously the last couple of weeks. Myself and 3 other students from our law school in Canada have decided to do a semester abroad in India. Semester starts Oct 17th In Bangalore and we reach India on the 23rd of September. We were hoping to drop our stuff off in Bangalore on the 23rd and then fly up to either Delhi or Amritsar and then work our way down to Mumbai in the three weeks and then fly back to bangalore to start school. Can anyone help us out with our itinerary. Want to See Amritsar, Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, The rest of Rajastan. Then travel through gujurat, the ellora ajanta caves, and a couple of days in mumbai before flying back to bangalore from mumbai on the 15th. Can anyone give us any advice on how to split up our days. Was thinking of spending a few days in punjab (only because have friends there) the 2 in delhi. Not sure if we have time to do varanasi and bodh gaya as they maybe out of the way. Then go to jaipur through agra and spend the rest of our time working our way down to mumbai... any help would be most welcome thanks |

Seems to me like you need more time [which you haven't got] or fewer places. Can you prioritize and eliminate some stops?

A good rule of thumb (thumb of rule? what's the phrase?) is after all your wild planning you sit down and make a simple little schedule of where you want to go & how much time it might take you to get in and out of there (always erring on the conservative side) & how much you'd actually like to spend there. This will tell you that in this case at least you're asking for the impossible.
Another thing is different folks have different strokes but I find you can cover an amazing lot of ground the one week but find yourself wanting to pick your nose and watch the world go by the next.
