3 weeks in south india

want to start in chennai in feb next year and finnish in mumbai about 3 weeks later after having a few days in goa
would appreciate any advice regarding itinary and any recomended tour companys

Google would get you all the general info, a guidebook would get even more info, but if you want info that is useful to you as an individual, you need to give a lot more info about the things you want to see, the things you're interested in and your budget, only then can people give more personalised replies, and often you'll be told about a great hotel in your price range, but it's a waste of time offering this info if a person has no idea if the info will be useful.

Would suggest go through the Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Tamilnadu and Kerala sections here on IM, first, and for a start.

Like steven indicates, shortlist the places you would like to go to, and for how long.

Once you have a first-off list, you will get more useful replies here.
