3 weeks in India in August/September
Hi there,
Myself and my fella are spending 3 weeks in India during August and September. We'd like to spend 2 weeks travelling around (Delhi, Agra, Rajasthan and anywhere else anyone could recommend)and seeing all the sites and soaking up the culture, and then spend a week down south on a beach. I'm not really sure how the monsoon will affect this...is it going to be ok to go down south at this time of year?? Any ideas on how to spend 3 weeks at this time of year would be greatly appreciated...we're not interested in going to Kashmir at all by the way. Thanks ![]() |

what we did
Nice trip, we spent the first three weeks of our honeymoon in 1997 in North India. You'll find the report here:

Spent 3 weeks in India in December, was my first time there, i will definitely be back, the sooner the better. I didnt see that much of Rajasthan but i did spend 5 days in Udaipur and it was beautiful, we stayed in a great hotel overlooking the lake and it was really reasonably priced. Then headed to Kerala for 2 weeks for some tropical heat, stayed in Munnar & visited some nice beaches on the coast. Any more questions - give me a shout.

You have already decide to make the right choice to Rajasthan with Agra, I would suggest you some more destination with your decided trip.
First you can spend your two weeks in Rajasthan (includes some small non touristy villages) otherwise you can not see the real Rajasthan life culture and local people life. Off beaten track village: Rawala Khempur(udaipur), Madhogarh(near jaipur), rawala bhenswara(near Jodhpur). Alipura(near orcha). Among village you can choose 1 or 2 village to see the real India. After Rajasthan, you can proceed to Agra-gwalior-orcha-alipura-khajuraho-varanasi-delhi. This will be the best extended part for your travel I guess. For more info, feel free to ask. ![]() |
