3 week trip to India - Rajasthan, Goa, Hampi & Kerala - advice needed!
Hi there,
I was hoping for some feedback on an itinerary my friend and I have drawn up for a 3 week trip to India. My itinerary: 2nd December – arrive in Delhi. 3rd December – Day spent in Delhi. 4th – December – Agra, sleeper bus/train to Jaipur. 4th & 5th – Jaipur & Amber. 6th – Bus to Ajmer/Pushkar. 7th – Ajmer/Pushkar – sleeper train to Jodphur. 8th – Day in Jodhpur – sleeper train to Jaisalmer. 9th – Day in Jaisaler. 10th – Camel Safari – night in the desert. 11th – Return to Jaisalmer – catch sleeper train to Jodhpur. 12th – Jodhpur – catch flight to Mumbia in the afternoon. Spend evening in Mumbai. 13th – Day in Mumbai – sleeper train to Goa. 14th – Spend Day in Goa. 15th – Day in Goa – sleeper bus to Hampi 16th – Spend Day in Hampi. 17th – Travel to Kerala. 18th – 22nd – Kerala. Would also be interested in any advice regarding getting from Hampi to Kerala! Cheers, Anthony |

Hello Anthony
I suggest you change your Itinerary a bit, I'll give you some basic train info (for more detail look in post 2 of the Train Information link below). Agra - Jaipur isn't far enough for an overnight journey. Ajmer - Jodhpur has a daytime train in both directions, but no overnight train, and it's also not far enough for an overnight bus (maybe there's an overnight Pushkar - Jaisalmer bus, and there is a way to go to overnight to Jaisalmer via train, but is involves a 2.5 hour taxi and a very late train (01:30)) Agra - Jodhpur, Agra - Bikaner and Bikaner - Jaisalmer are all possible by overnight train, though Bikaner - Jaisalmer isn't ideal. Jaipur-Jaisalmer is also an overnight train option in both directions. There is also a direct Jaipur - Goa flight. So maybe....Agra-Jodhpur-Jaisalmer-Pushkar(if there's an overnight bus)-Jaipur-Goa However, the whole Itinerary is far too rushed and you'd be worn out half way through, you really need to cut out some places. If you do go to Mumbai, consider Mumbai-Hampi-Goa-Kerala.
