3-4 months South India

Hi all,
We are getting close and super excited! We will be in India Sept-Feb. the first few months will be in the North but by November we would like to head south and explore places like Kerala, Karnataka, and Goa. We will fly out of Mumbai so will probable head from Kerala through Karnataka into Goa and north to Mumbai. We would love suggestions for an itinerary - we are with three small kids so will be happy to spend longer in places. We've thought of
-Kochi
-Wayanad
-Mudumalai
- Hampi
- Kannur
-allepy
- agonda
-Ashvem
-Coorg

Any other places/ideas and itinerary advice?

Hi Larue,

Suggest you check out Madurai / Tanjore in State of Tamil Nadu. Since you plan to spend quite some time, you would have enough time to cover both the southern states.

I just saw your post and had to smile! we are a family of four with two relatively young daughters (6&7) who are going to India October to Feb. we are also 'loosely' planning 2.5 months in the north and 2.5 months in the south. if you would like to trade travel ideas and maybe even meet while in india let me know! I have sent you a friend request, as i cannot find a way to send a personal message

We stayed some days in Banavasi, a quiet place in the North of Karnataka, somewhere between Sirsi and Haveri.
It is hardly visited by tourist but there is a tourist accommodating.
