22days-tamil nadu kerala-help with the intinerary, please!!!

Hi, Indian Mike forum!
My boyfriend and I are coming to India for 22 days, from July 31 to August 22. We're attending to a wedding in Cochin and we would like to make the most of the time we had at India. We will fly to Bangalore and after that, this is almost what we planned. It's our first trip to India, so that's just some ideas...

Bangalore-Chennai-Kanchimpuram-Mamallapuram-Pondicherry-Chidabaram-Tanjore-Trichy-Madurai-Kanyakumari-Trivandrum-Kollam-Allepey-Cochin... Maybe, we'll chose Mysore before going back to Bangalore and take our flight back home.

What do you think about that? Do you think it's too much? We're thinking on going by train and bus...
We'll be grateful if you can give us any kind of advice.

Hi, and welcome to IndiaMike.

At 14 destinations in 22 days, could get a little rushed, don't you think? (And even more so on a first trip.) I definitely think you'll need to cut and prioritize.

I suggest reading around this forum some more and read a few guidebooks to find your bearings a little better. Also, my usual advice: Try to look up India on a map that shows it on the same scale as your home country. And bear in mind the infrastructure and speed of transport may not be what you're used to.

Good luck with it, and people here will always be prepared to help you finalize the details.

In My opinion, for 22 days, your itenary looks ok and always you could cut short or extend a day or 2 in a place which you do not like / like !

For Tamilnadu[Covering all the places you have mentioned] , I have posted the sample itenary in this link [ Post No 2]. That might be useful

3 bases for a 8-9 day itinerary???
