Mulling another itinerary, this one would be 2 weeks in the Northeast region (one of the few remaining I have yet to see, having gone as far as Gaya).

Specifically, the Sikkim, Meghalaya, Assam, Nagaland, Manapur regions to the north and east of Bangladesh ( I hear they're the most stunning as compared to say West Bengal and points west and south of it towards Chennai).

Ive read that I would be unable to visit some of these regions because my party size makes me inelgible for a tourist permit (has to be 4 or more for Manipur I believe?)

Solo traveler during the first two weeks of this coming January.

As always, thanks in advance.

What all do you plan to cover in two weeks? I could spend it in Sikkim alone! Or pick up Meghalaya and Assam as they are close by.

Not sure, I would like to cover as much ground as possible, taking into consideration both travel permits and what I should see considering it will likely be my one and only visit to the area probably EVER in my lifetime.

I was also considering a Western India loop: Jaisalmer-Dwarka-Diu-Bhavnagar-Ahmedabad-Udaipur. But, Ive heard that Northeast India is preferable.

NE is great, but Western India is much easier to get around. You'd actually be able to do the loop you've written about.

Yes, you're probably right. I think the cold and potential for snow would just complicate travel in an area where it is sure to already be a complicated endeavor.

Thanks for your reply.
