2 weeks in madhya pradesh dec end- help on travel itinerary required

Hi,

I will be traveling to Madhya Pradesh last 2 weeks of dec.
can anybody suggest on this travel itinerary.

I also need suggestions on budget accomodation in these places.

day 1 - start from bangalore
day 2 - travel
day 3 - reach jhansi , orcha
day 4 - jhansi to khajuraho ( 6hrs)
day 5 - kajuraho
day 6 - satna to umaria - umaria to bhandavgarh
day 7 - bhandavgarh
day 8 - bandavgarh to jabalpur ( 200km)
day 9 - bedaghat
day 10 - jabalpur to pachmarhi ( 5hrs on train - 170 odd kms)
day 11 - pachmarhi
day 12 - pachmarhi -- (try overnight to mandu)
day 13 - pachmarhi to mandu ( pipariya to ratlam 560 km - 11 hrs)
day 14 - Mandu
day 15 - omkareshwar maheshwar
day 16 - khandwa to bangalore (karnataka express)

I was wondering if you are getting just half a day at Orchha?

Since you mentioned BUDGET, take a look at this blog/diary "Paki Nuttah let loose" http://www.getjealous.com/getjealous...&go=pakinuttah

for the days 7-July-2008 to 9-Jul-2008. You'll get budget ( INR 400 etc ) hotels mentioned for Khajuraho and Orcha.

Warnings:
1. In other places in her blog she mentions that some of her budget hotels in India state "No Indians allowed" - WTF??? But you possibly may not want to hassle such ignorant discrimination on your vacation so check ahead and call..
2. There are cuss words in her blog.
3. That diary is addictive. Start reading it at your own peril.

Mridula,

Is there more to do at Orchha ? My group does not like much of forts etc. We get the entire day in jhansi/orchha. If there is more to do/see there I can change the plan. we prefer to see natures marvels rather than man made ones ( forts etc). Is it similar to khajuraho ? i have not done much research on orrcha, but it was recommended.
