2 weeks in August around Delhi
My partner and I will be arriving in Delhi in mid August for a 2 week holiday. We want to do about 4 days in Delhi and then travel a bit (but nothing too frantic). We were thinking of going up to the hill stations round Shimla to do some walking but think the monsoon might be a problem. Any suggestions or advice much appreciated.

In August it will be 35-36 C with 90% humidity. But it will be fairly lush and green, and definitely less polluted and dusty. You could travel to Leh and explore Ladakh. Or you could make up your mind wether to head for the hills of Himachal or Uttaranchal depending upon the short term forecasts for these areas. I guess august is a somewhat lean season in the hills and accommodation will not be a problem.
