2-2 1/2 weeks India this November: My husband and I need your itinerary advice

We have about 2 - 2 1/2 weeks to spend in India this November 2008. We are return peace corps volunteers so we can travel and be uncomfortable. We would like to experience Indian culture, food, people and get a chance to relax a bit. Any itinerary suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Every one of us would suggest a different itinerary.

Have you looked at a guidebook to India, to see what sounds interesting to YOU? That might be a good place to start -- a used Lonely Planet Guide should be available for less than $5 (the signtseeing bits don't go out of style) and will provide you with endless matters of discussion.

After you've made a start on it, be sure to ask us more specific questions.
