16 days in Rajasthan - where to go?

I'm off to Inida for 16 days in October. From Delhi I plan to go to Agra for a night and then into Rajasthan for the rest of the time. The only booking I have made (a birthday treat for my lucky girlfriend!!) is a night at the Lake Palace Hotel in Udaipur 3 days before we fly home from Delhi (giving 2 days to travel back north).

Can anyone help plan the time in the middle?

Initial thoughts:

Agra - Ranthambore - Jaipur (as a stop over) - Ajmer - Pushkar - Jodhpur - Udaipur

This is probably pushing it and we don't want to be too rushed. Also, sounds like Bundi is worth a visit. (Fun) decisions decisions!

Cheers all.

My only experience is reading the guide books over & over again and planning out our own itinerary with the advice of the travel agency that is providing the car & driver.

On our trip, we are going from Bundi to Ranthambore to Jaipur, as the roads seem to lead up to eachother. I asked the travel agency who is hiring the driver whether this made sense and they said yes.

For us, the choice between Pushkar and Bundi was a choice because it seemed like it was either convenient to hit up Bundi after Udaipur or hit up Pushkar. But maybe you could make a circuit where you come down by way of Pushkar and come back by way of Bundi.

If you hire a car you could do this -
Day 1 - Delhi - Shekhawati (Mandawa/Nawalgarh)
Day 2 - Shekhawati - Bikaner
Day 3 - Bikaner - Jaislamer
Day 4 - Jaisalmer
Day 5 - Jaisalmer
Day 6 - Jaisalmer - Jodhpur
Day 7 - Jodhpur - Abu
Day 8 - Abu - Ranakpur
Day 9 - Ranakpur - Udaipur via Kumbhalgarh
Day 10 - Udaipur
Day 11 - Udaipur
Day 12 - Udaipur - Pushkar
Day 13 - Jaipur
Day 14 - Jaipur
Day 15 - Jaipur - Agra
Day 16 - Agra - Delhi
But youd have to change your date of stay in Udaipur. October it shouldnt be too difficult. If thats impossible, start with Agra as planned but youll have longer drives.
