10 destination on Rupees 1000?

I would not do it, but a cyber friend and his team are arranging a contest that goes something like this:

Quote:

The Plan

* Each team consists of two members
* Each person is allowed Rs. 1000 and a back pack. (Hrish - is this enough money? I'm not sure!)
* Participants are allowed to carry extra money, but are not encouraged to use it unless they are in some deep trouble.
* Remotest village in a state is a must visit.
* Farther the distance of travel from starting point more the fun.

3,166,414 sq. km

500,000 villages approximately

1000 bucks per person

28 states

15 days

10 destinations

2 per team

1 race

Is that 1000Rs PER DAY or for the entire 15 day trip?

Because if the rupee is 40/$1 (which I just read over the weekend), than that's only $25 US.

I suppose one can depend on the kindness of strangers....

10 destinations in 1000 Rs. (for the whole trip) not possible unless you earn money while touring or ask for help from others (Like getting a free ride in a truck)

Let's see, I did it on 200 Rs. a day 10 years ago = 3000 Rs., moving around quite a bit. If you know your way and being a little frugal... er, what was that URL?
