1 week in India in July - railway holidays
Hi there,
I am considering to travel to India in early July for about a week. As I am mainly interested in a train journey (most of all Mumbai to Goa) I thought the monsoon might not be that of a problem - am I right or wrong here?
My itinerary may look as follows:
Day 1: Mumbai, explore the city a bit
Day 2: train to Goa
Day 3: Explore Goa a bit, albeit watching out for the rain
Day 4: Take the train or plane to ???
Day 5: ????
Day 6: Getting back to Mumbao
Day 7: Fly home
Is this doable? Furthermore I welcome your recommendations for places to visit on Day 5 and 6.
Thank you so much!
Alex

3 days in Hampi wouldn't be enough, and you'd see very little in less time, but Mumbai-Goa-Hampi (Hospet station)- Mumbai (from Raichur or Adoni station to Mumbai) would make a nice circular trip, also the Goa-Hospet route is quite scenic, and Hampi is just one of the Must-See places in the world.
You'll do well to get reservations on all trains though.
