Just get the Eicher map.

It will cover everything in pretty fine detail.

Like A London A-Z. I don't know what in USA to compare it to.

OK, I'll order the IMS0165-Eicher Delhi City Map now since Delhi is the beginning of my journey. Since the rest of my trip is fluid can I buy any other good maps I need in India

PS: I have the Nepal portion of my trip covered map wise (at least I think I do)

EDIT Stupid post as I'm sure they sell all the maps I need, I guess my question was more to the ability of buying the 'best' brand maps in India since I won't be able to buy from the internet while in India as I'll be on the move

MeCasa, one thing you will learn in India above all else is patience! when I got back the first time from India I told my husband that I will never again complain about slow service in a restaurant...because no matter how slow it is here, it's slower in India!

I will also echo the Eicher map advice.....

That map store is good. Order it and you will get it as quick as transport allows (less than a week to UK).

It will arive in a cloth-lined envelope that is about to fall to pieces.

I ordered something from them for delievery to Chennai: it still arrived in a cloth-lined envelope that was about to fall to pieces!

Which map you buy probably depends on whether you want a general tourist guide to the areas, or whether you want to be able to find roads nobody else has ever heard of.

Slim requirements: Airport > Maidens > Barmaidless Bar > Karol Baugh > Apollo > Road out of town

Everything is easy to find but the bar, did I mention I need a bar with a balcony and cheap cold beer?

Just for future reference, here's the reply from Eicher on the question of the difference between some of the maps

Eicher delhi City map, is a complete map od delhi. But if you want have one more tha You can buy Eicher Delhi road map http://www.indiamapstore.com/eicher-...s/IMS0162.html. As city map is a book with all the details whereas road map is a folded map and cheap too.

The best option for lesser shipping time is by courier service only (FedEx). It take 3-4 days at most to reach the products in USA. Also in order to save money on shipping cost is to order more products in same shippment.

For any clarification required please revert back to me.

Vipin

I'm not sure what he said, did he say they would tell me stock after I order or did he confirm stock? It's not a big deal but I read that they will hold the order until all the maps are available and there's really NO reason for paying for epedited shipping if they hold the order for weeks

What did Mr. Vipin say?

I think he said We all the maps in stock

Hehe, did he say anything

Haha, either way I placed the order, can't locate a bar without a map

Get on the phone!

You'll probably be even more confused after actually speaking to them!

Tell me about it, after a half dozen 'interesting' phone calls with the Apollo Hospital I started having second thoughts about letting them cut into me

Haha, I'm dead serious, I almost backed out, but what the hell, that's why we call it 'adventure'

Given the slightly unusual use of words like keep, put, take in Indian English, talking about surgery could be umm, hilarious!

Worryingly, I don't know what's Mecasa's saying. Vipin just said, he has all the maps in stock and so proceed with the ordering. Mecasa says he doesn't get what Vipin's saying?

Seriously, is there any OTHER explanation because I'm beginning to doubt MY comprehension of sentences.

I'm pretty confused, I thought his terse reply answered all of Mecasa's queries....

Differences in culture, to me, the phrasing strongly infers a forthcoming report of stock availability, whereas in India it does not, the sentence is the stock report, but if you look at my post you will see that I agreed woth your evaluation while still showing my obvious doubt of my understanding. I largely based my understanding on Vipin's order to proceed.

I hope we are both correct and the maps will soon arrive as I am very excited.I ended up ordering thirteen maps etc. for $27US and the shipping was $60 US for a total of $4010 INR and I shipped by Fedex
