Are GARMIN GPS maps available for Indian metros

Hi i have a Garmin 60CSX MAP GPS with a world basemap(including India) but not detailed city maps.

http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-GPSMap-...&s=electronics

I have been looking desperately for Delhi's detailed map with all roads and Points of interest, but in vain!!! the accuracy of this device in India is stunning (2-3m in the open and 4-5m in tree cover). However, it would be really nice to have a detailed road map built in for easy navigation.
Does anyone have any clue as to where i could get a map for Delhi and the other metros and have it loaded on to the Garmin Handheld?

I have been told they are not available for India, we have a TomTom and they are not available (we have been told )...when you see the streets in Delhi and India I suppose you can understand why, they must be always changing details and difficult to be accurate via GPS

I'm afraid we have to wait a while for GPS yet.

As soon as it becomes available it will be in my car!

I don't think that Garmin has discovered us yet, although I understand that there are maps published by others that will run on Garmin devices.

Even my latest Nokia phone has detailed maps for Chennai, so will almost certainly cover the other metros too at least. Outside town, though, it is a blank.

Online maps of India have come a long way of late. I don't think that when people post asking how far apart two points in a city are, many of them yet realise that Google Maps has reached India, and will very likely answer their question! MapMyIndia is even better, with detailed coverage of many smaller towns.

MapMyIndia also markets a couple of portable GPS devices. I don't know, but I suspect that it may give the best coverage for non-metro India

It might be a couple of years late for you but I have found 2 companies that do Garmin Maps for hand helds. I have a 76Cx Map.
Try Satguide, 404 towns and cities plus all highways, or elektronik lab.
Satguide best for prompt replies.
MapmyIndia does Garmin car type GPS maps , and have voice commands and routing etc. These maps use are different protocol to hand helds and Chart plotters

I have made a GPS map of India for my garmin from the open street map, looks pretty nice.

Not sure if it is routeable though...
