Thanks again. TD is travellers diahrrea. Probably didn't spell it correctly. Maybe the doxycycline would take care of both malaria and TD.

..or it could give you diarrhea , common sideffect of antibiotics. I would go for Lexinor or a similar quinolonbased med , but you should talk this over with your physician. Bring "dry youghurt" capsules (lactobacillus capsules) if you are not comfortable with eating youghurt while being sick , this helps to normalise your intestinal flora during/after antibiotics treatment.

There is also an oral vaccine against TD , not very efficient but anything that evens up the odds can be seen as useful.Called Dukoral. Again: talk it over with your doc. And give your body a chance to sort itself out , most of the time it will do the job on it`s own.

I don't smoke or drink anyway, I'm not dying my red hair any color, and I'm marrying an Indian why do I need to be afraid of them? I want to blend in as much as possible not seem like a paranoid tourist (okay I know auburn hair, extremely fair skin, green eyes are going to stand out)

so I read the first post... and select others along this thread. I'm a 21yr odl girl...
traveling to India by myself.
While I am meeting someone there... I have begun to think more seriously about safety precautions.

I will be staying in kerala for six weeks. any suggestions? I know its a touristy area. is this a good thing? from what I gather the most tavelers concern would lie in the north. is this accurate?
I'm fairly naive and while this is my 3rd time over seas... it is my first international trip alone.
Any help is greatly appriciated! thank you

Anyone seen the movie "taken"?... I dont want that to be me

Type "women + safety" into the search bar. Most issues are minor annoyance really. If you are groped, make a scene - this will stop the behaviour dead in its tracks.

traveling tips for 2 women

hello...
I need some advise here...
we are planning to travel to india - golden triangle & Jaisalmer this September 09.
this is our 1st time and we are kind of worried about our safety there especially is only 2 women.

our plan is to fly there on our own and get a tour agent named Prudent Network to guide and arrange for us on the whole entire trip from our arrival to depart India including the hotel arrangement.

We found this Prudent Network via online which I m not too sure how secure and how safe are we with them for the whole trip.
According to them, there will be only 2 of us with them in the tour. Since we are traveling across the golden triangle, there will be alot of long hours of road trip.
This make us even worried about our safety.

Please advise if anyone have joined or heard about this Prudent Network? and any extra safety tips for 2 women here.

I don't have any idea about above mentioned travel agency but it's always recommended that please do all the Authentication regarding any of the travel agency and the itineraries provided by them .

Wish you a very Happy and Safe journey

Thanks,
Gaurav
