Safety for Travel in India?

Hi,
I've been hearing about all the issues in India right now- and am about to come to India (Delhi/Rajasthan) for a month to visit family and do some tourist things...but I'm now wondering if it is a safe time to visit?

HI ruby and welcome to the site , nothing wrong in the areas you are planning to visit. Mumbai is the one facing some heat right now.

Not often a problem for forens. The biggest hazard is road travel. But, I never had a truly serious injury in that country..

If you are referring to the recent bombings, they are not a new development and yes I believe that now is just as safe a time as any. I'm certainly not restricting my activities here in Delhi and I don't know anyone who is. Anyway, if you let terrorists change your plans they've won and frankly nobody wants that.

If you're wondering about the weather, come now! The fierce heat has pretty much gone and it's getting lovely and cool in the evenings - we don't even use AC in the car any more.
