Well, I was being sarcastic...
Yes, agreed, quality over quantity: I've weighed in with nearly 500 grade-A posts... (sarcasm again). ![]() |

Vasko, I'm right with you on the nature of the site, and nobody's jumping on this thread or closing it down or discouraging it

back to topic...
Is it generally accepted to travel with your own sister and to share a double room with here? Thou it would be quite easy to go as married, since we've got the same last name. (yucky) |

I don't see why not - be brother and sister as you are, and no problem. Many places have two twin beds for a 'double' which can be pulled apart - you can also ask for a twin room.

I had to go back for a death in the family, and shared a room first with one brother, then another due to our logistics. They too live abroad, so we took the 1st flights back from our countries, then drove together to final destination. After brother #2 landed, we upgraded to a suite. Now we did ask for separate beds - 2 twins. W/ the suite, they gave us a double bed my brothers shared, and I had a twin bed. I found it helped to be clear we were siblings. None of us wanted there to be any misunderstandings with the staff. It made us less interesting to them, so we weren't even asked a lot of the usual questions we sometimes have to field as NRIs other than the occasional question re weather where we're from. For what it's worth, we're Indian, but I don't think it would have mattered in terms of the hotel or reception desk. |

My g/f will be here to live in about 5 weeks, and you bet we'll pose as married, a couple of days in Mumbai will be enough to "get married" before we return. As for hotels, on her last trip, the owner (who wasn't present on check-in) moved us to a more-private room a few hours after we checked-in so that we'd be more out of view of the Indian clientele of the hotel. Of course, she made up her mind that we weren't married w/o even asking. First time for everything, I guess.
