Weather website

You may find this useful - masses of data for many locations, although it's not always easy to find which ones!

And if you are a Firefox browser then the ForecastFox extension displays weather now and for the next few days on your status bar.

You set up different profiles for different locations. For instance I can easily check the weather in London, Penzance or Chennai. I can tell what the weather is without looking out of the window!!!

You can also go to the web page and see daily, hourly etc forecasts, or check out other locations.

Check out the Extension Home Page Here

commentable work-climate

Wow!!! This is a commentable work!!! A million dollar idea! But beach, you yourself know practically how unreliable this "generalized" chart is!
please go ahead and make a comprehensive micro-level chart.

The weather forecasts and records for Ooty (Udhagamandalam), Tamil Nadu are a mystery to me. As far as I can tell, some of the data are recorded more than 100 miles away from the town!

As Ooty is at 7500ft, the weather is completely different from, say, Mettupalyam, a town only 20 miles away, but 6000ft lower!

When it is 22°C in Ooty it is going to be over 30°C in Mettupalyam!

We have the same problem at my home in the UK. We are high up and the nearest weather station is many miles away. We bought our own weather station to record the weather data for Cragg Vale, Yorkshire, and I plan to do the same in Ooty.

Our UK weather station is live at http://www.pcuk.co.uk/weather/live.html and you can see more data at http://www.pcuk.co.uk/webcam

forget about 20 miles. You can't predict weather 200 meters away in Ooty.

The other day i've seen a large number of people from the next street running towards where i was standing. It's raining there!!!

Came across another weather site just now (cos a member pointed to the Ladakh administration site, who point on to them -- there must be thousands of such sites of course), looks OK and with some handy features from a quick glance: http://www.accuweather.com/

Yes, they offer free plug-ins for other browsers and webmasters/bloggers too it seems.

(But then again so does Weather Underground I see now, or to a lesser extent, never noticed: http://www.wunderground.com/download/index.asp )
