I'm useless at remembering numbers, but Goan milk seems expensive!

These (Chennai) people did medical insurance for my partner's trip to UK. I asked if they would cover me when I cam back to India and they said yes, no problem. Maybe they have an office in Goa...

Please can I ask why you want Medical Insurance in Goa when it is so cheap to visit the Doctor, Hospital etc. Just curious as we have lived in Goa for the last 12 winters and have had no insurance - just go and pay. I broke my ankle there a couple of years ago and all in all cost me about £23 for all the treatment I had.

Even at a fraction of Western prices a heart op, or recovery from a bad accident, could still cost a lot!

There is a very good case for not paying European rates, which will include the possibilities of stuff like repatriation by air...

Living in Goa for 3years + i have seen and heard of some horrific and fatal accidents, our own experience of not having medical insurance cost us 400GBP when my husband had malaria and was given 5 hrs to live, Goa is cheap when it comes to minor injuries and medication, but when your living on a limited budget it hits your pocket big time when things like that happen, and this can also happen to the tourist visiting, a friend had a heart attack and was flown to bangalore for heart surgery the cost 2.000GBP which his father paid because he had no insurance, dont think you can put a price on life!!!!

I fel insurence in general, is; when affordable a good option! Especially so with a good medical plan!
Of course many things in India health care wise are very affordable! The argument falls down when something really unexpected occurs a bad car crash, parasite, TB,......
Faced with these long term and life changing ailments I'm sure you would be so happy that an insurence company assisted you in the years of treatment involved!
If Nick can get a health insurence in India, it's got to be a great deal for him personally and is the mark of a guy taking his new life seriously!
Others who have posted should take a look at this!
