advice on learning hindi

I should be busy with it now instead of ..what I am doing.
Yes, I was using that feature in Hindi Guru and clicking it quickly to join up the phrases, but still...I wish one could just adjust the speed of the full sentences, just slow them down a little.

I had been reading about the Landour school, thinking I could give up other plans and just stay there for three weeks, but it's too late now, November would be too cold for me, and so it would have to wait until April. The latest idea is to go to where I would otherwise go in U.P. and try to find someone to teach me. "Full immersion."

I'm going to go next November (had to cancel going this year) because any other time will be too hot for me!

Back on track....I was speaking yesterday with a friend of mine who has managed to get Hindi Guru to work in Win XP without having to have the CD in the drive, and without having made an image of it; unfortunately, it was a rushed conversation and I promised to call him back and find out how he managed to do this.

I will report back.

Yes, please. That would be very useful.

The cold, the climate...yes, 14 degree max and zero overnight, and damp, not for me. I would be huddling in a blanket trying to be comfortable, it would override the interest in learning. I look forward to 35-40 degree dry heat.
