Want to come to India to work

Hello there .
I am currently in Spain working as a TEFL teacher . I have experience in running my own business ( video/dvd shop ) and a large disco pub for another owner . I am educated up to college level ( UK ) and want to come to India to work in a call center . Ideally I'd like to work in Goa , because I've heard that it's very cheap and a good standard of living could be obtained there . If there are not any call centers in Goa , where do people work and is the cost of living the same as Goa ( or if there are call centers in Goa , do they pay less ? )
I've also been told that a lot of call centers provide apartments . I am probably bringing my dog and was worried that it might be a problem .
Any advice is good advice

P.S - Probably most important - am I qualified to work in a call center ?

Your help will be much valued .

Most people in Goa work in the tourism industry. Call centres are mainly located in Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chandigarh and a few other cities. From your qualifications I am not sure whether you will be able to get a job in a call centre.

Since you have experience running a pub, why don't you open a restaurant in Goa? There are many Britishers who have opened pubs, restaurants and hotels all over Goa.

Welcome to Indiamike.com

Have to say that you message suggests that you don't know much about India, don't know much about Goa and don't know much about call centres.

That's not meant to sound unwelcoming! This is a great place to learn .

But I do suggest a heap of research and some actual travelling before deciding to work in India...

There are a lot of threads on IM about call centres: check them out! I don't think there is a magic formula for getting a job though.

Since there are no call centres in Goa how do you propose to stay in Goa and work in a call centre?

Start a spanish course for restaurant owners .Also a spanish guide translator etc would make mucho bucks
It doesn't interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare dream of meeting your heart's longing.

"I want to work in a call centre"
Just... yikes, no matter what country you are in.

Oh come on, it's not that bad. I did my time in call-centres before I started in my current job
It would be worth it if every time you finished a shift you were already in India, rather than spending your work day dreaming about India (which I think a few members may be guilty of)...
