Transfer of Residence Queries
Hi all,
Was wondering if anyone who done the TR thing managed to get around the 180 day rule or the "within one month of arrival in India rule". In theory, the customs officer has the authority to extend this, but my experience of Indian customs officials is that they are unwilling to exercise their authority. I have well exceeded 180 days in last two years, but didn't have residency and was moving house every few months. Post-wedding, we've finally found a place, and would really like to get some of my things sent across. Thanks, Emma |
