Stumping a company with new ideas, advice?
Well, I have just finished up one of several really great phone interviews with an online media company in Inda. Basically an Indian company, subsidiary of a US company.
Anyway, it seems that all of the foreigners so far are simply on assignment from the US company (completely separate). I am the first to come across and apply for the Indian companies position, fit it well, and want it. I have stumped them. The next step is for them to figure out how to deal with everything when it comes to the legality, permits, taxes, etc. I have done quite a bit of peeking around and I am comfortable with what I need to survive and to relocate, etc. I am just wondering if anyone else has been through anything like this? What to keep an eye out for? Any advice? All info warmly welcomed and thoroughly appreciated! Thanks! |

I would imagine there's an Indian Consulate in
Chicago. Obviously you will require somesort or Work Visa. There are a number of IM members who have gone through a similar exercise and should be able to offer you some sound advice before too long. rgds vandy ![]() |

Thanks Vandy, Shashank
I have dealt with the consulate for a visa before and I am fairly versed with what the requirements are for the employment visa. I guess what I am asking is if anyone had been through this with a company that is new to the process. Where there any bumps in the road? Anything that they or the company felt blindsided with? Or would one just recommend immediately contacting a relocation service? I have heard that you should be choosy when it comes to services. Any good recommendations? Should I secure on my own and then go to company or should company secure them... Last edited by photoredde : Apr 24th, 2008 at 21:52. |
