Question Snakes In Goa, Residential Area

Hi
I have already posted a message about my phobia with snakes. I asked about Goa in general but I am mostly concerned about the residential areas and apartment buildings in particular. Does anyone out there live in an apt and have they encountered any of the deadly beasties in their homes? This is the only fly in the ointment (or should I say, snake in the ointment) that is putting my hubby and I off moving out there to live. I couildn't cope with them around me.
Many thanks

It depends on the area surrounding your house. If you are going to be living in the city you don't have to worry but if you are going to be living in the countryside then you can expect to see some.

just out of curiousity, are most snake species in India poisonous (like cobras, krates, etc.)? Here in the US, many snake species, but only a few poisonous.

270 species is the bad news! Very few poisonous species is the good news!
India leads the world in Snake bites & Snake bite deaths .. ummm more bad news! Apparently they have Flying Snakes there too ....
I think I need some therapy now!

Just happened to look at the bottom of the page and there it was... Electronic snake repeller. http://www.stopsnakes.com/

Wonder how it would work on Indian serpents?

You've been to the Chennai Crocadile/Snake place: you should be telling us.

But then, so have I

If I remember right, there were 4 main types of poisonous snake .... ... ... ... ...

If that gadget works it could be good. The ultrasonic mossie repellers are utterly useless... ... ...
