Potential Phone Interview for Bangalore, India Job?

Hi All,

I will have a potential phone interview for a Language Specialist opportunity with a prominent company in Bangalore, India.

I have made contact with the recruiting firm and am anticipating the phone interview will take place within the next week or two.

I would appreciate some phone interview tips from those of you who have experience with this opportunity. Additionally, your insight on the job itself.

You can send me a message instead of post here if it makes you more comfortable.

I was not sure if I should post in this area or the classified section. I thought this area is appropriate enough.

I look forward to hearing from you and appreciate your time.

Thanks.

If you have cable/dsl internet, be ON LINE during the interview and prepared to do rapid research!! I've used several times in the past and having answers right at your fingertips can be invaluable.

Make sure you interview them to ensure they are not some fly-by-night operator.

Hmmm... no experience with it and no idea if this helps any, but I was immediately reminded of this thread: Applying for Jobs - How do they interview Overseas applicants . Replies there start off a little sarcastically, but I believe the thread grew with some relevant remarks as it evolved.

See what you make of it.

I might have a potential interview for a Corporate trainer-language specialist as well. It could possibly be with the same company.

Just wondering Nan and Curry- did you ever have that interview and what was the outcome?
I am also looking for a job in India. My boyfriend lives there (he in Indian) and I was hoping to come to work and be able to support myself rather than come again as a visitor. I know my CDN money does go further in India, but it will not last forever.

I was trying to send you a PM but couldn't. Why don't you send me a PM, and then I will reply .

(Sorry for this standardized response): New members do not have the PM (Private Messaging) function yet, neither to send nor receive. It takes a certain nr. of posts + period of membership.

You could create a free disposable webmail address for the purpose, then post it here. Or discuss what you need on the board. Be aware anyone could contact you on that address pretending to be the other. Posting your private email address is not advised, for all the obvious reasons.

Well, I guess Machadinha has cleared the PM issue up. I am new to the board so probably won't have the PM option available to me for a little while.

Well that just sucks, I'd really like to hear from you Nan and curry, as I am having a little trouble connecting with the interviewer in Bangalore, and so your feedback would be great. I guess part of me is wondering how serious the "offer" is for the job, even though the recruiter confirmed there were plenty of jobs. I have called twice and no answer each time

I've also been in contact with another company about a job in Hyderabad.

Any other way to get in touch to discus this.....?????

As suggested above, just set up a temporary free webmail address for it that you can then post here. "shellyblah AT thingumajig.com," easy as pie

... It's not just about nr. of posts, but about period of membership too. You're not there yet; should be soon. (If that sounds mysterious, I don't know the exact data for it either.)

If all this sounds annoying, it's just to stop people from signing up only to start spamming half the membership with inane (usually to the presumedly female half) or commercial PM's. Lesser of two evils, if you will.

Hello Shelley, I'm bored and sitting in an internet cafe dreaming of what might be possible with a female foreign tourist just off the plane...

Be glad of the PM restriction: it really has cut down on this kind of crap although I know it can be a nuisance.

And Hah! Just sent you a PM, so it looks like you qualify now!
