Police clearance certificate from India
HI,
Can anyone tell me one should go to Passport office to apply for PCC? Since PCC is issued by Police department, I can directly go to CITY Commissioner office and get the certificate right? Does PCC contain any information related to Passport office? Or PCC only has the info from Police? If I get the PCC from Police directly, will Canadian immigration accept the PCC? regards, |

State your problem first; What are you trying to achieve and for what purpose. Without context no one can be of useful assistance.

Yes agree with nycank. Give a little background on your situation. Are you an Indian passport holder or a foreign expat?
I am supposed to get PCC for migration purposes (Aussie Spouse Visa), but as I'm out of India already, there is no way to obtain the PCC. I sent an email to my India Consulate to see if they're able to process this for me and they replied confirming the same. With the email proof, I can explain to the authorities of my circumstances. If you're in India, you might first want to check which PCC version is acceptable for Canada - district version or Delhi version? For Australia, they require the PCC to come from Delhi itself. I had my PCC done before when I was doing my visa extension. What I did was go to the District Police Station (I was staying in Bangalore so I went to the nearest, Koramangala Police Station), asked to see the highest-in-authority guy there, paid him a bit of "processing fee" (well you know what that means I hope), and got it on that very same day. Persevere! Indian police are a really tough nut to crack and give all sorts of excuses to reject your application, and each state has different rules so I really cannot tell you what to do, except relate my experience, hopefully it can give you a bit of idea on what to do. I went with my expat friend who's an old-hand in dealing with Indians, that was how I got my PCC so fast. See if you can find a local who's good at this sort of thing. Cheers and Good luck! |
