Noida or New Delhi?

Hello there!

I'm moving to India at the beginning of the following year.
I'll be working in Noida and I'd like to know which are the advantages & disadvantages of living there, recommendations to stay there or not (Delhi), facilities, social life, best sectors to live ... and what about the prices? cost of living ...

If you live there, feel free to contact me!! I'd like to meet people from everywhere to go for a beer, travelling or whatever!

Thanks,
Lluis

Where in Noida will you be working? If it is closer to Delhi, then maybe you could consider Delhi ... however, 99% of the time, it will be better it you stay in Noida. Public transport between Noida and Delhi is still not mature.

Here are my two cents! I live in Noida, in fact have been around here since a loong time when the city was just conceived.

I am very happy living out here and would definately recommend that you set up base in Noida if you have to work here. The daily office commute from Delhi could be an unnecessary burden. ( I drive to work in Delhi every day)

The nicer sectors to live are 36,39,40, 15 A...actually it depends on your budget and what you are looking for.

Which sector is your office located in?

Feel free to touch base in case you need anything.

Cheers,

Rohan

I've just arrived from India and after that week I have a general idea of what is living in Noida.

Rohan: my company is at the NSEZ.

and what about "greater noida"?
I've seen some beautiful ads of residential complex, does anybody know the prices? or websites where I could find more info?

Thanks again!

Greater Noida is a newly developed township and not many people have moved there. In the years to come it might evolve into an active and well managed city but if I were you, I would'nt really consider living there as of now.

No social life, not many markets either.

hi , for 15000 u can get a pretty decent studio apartment in areas like Def Col, Green park , Kailash, Hauz Kaus etc but dun expect pools, if u really wan places with pools, think only those condos in Gurgaon u can find them.

The agents comm is one month, if anyone wants more, change the agent.

hope these is able to provide some help for u

I happen to live in NOIDA and if you are planning to work there it would make much sense if you stay in NOIDA itself, there are many options available for housing and there are several realty agents to get you a good deal at a month's comm's. Moreso there are several malls and entertainments avenues in NOIDA and its a self contained satallite city in itself. If you have any further querries do give me a shout

What about the water quality in NOIDA? I stayed in NOIDA earlier this year and found the water quality to be abysmal. The hard water in NOIDA makes bathing an unpleasant experience. After you come out of the bathroom you find the soap/shampoo has not fully washed off your body.
