Nightlife in Delhi

Wonder what the nightlife in Delhi is like... I know Mumbai rocks, but my perception of Delhi is that it has just very limited places to have a good night out. Any experiences?

Hi: Welcome to IM.

Delhi does have some night life but not as much as Mumbai. You can find bars and pubs (no dancing girls) but there are lots of dicso places that you need someone to go with.
Places like GK, NFC, S'Ex etc...

If you head towards guragon that becomes a lot more ... fun ..

i dont know much abt nightlife in delhi.....my feeling is bars, pubs and dance clubs are mostly in the 5 star hotels in delhi

i agree with indojingai.....mumbai nightlife rocks!!... and in gurgaon u have a few dance clubs and bars within the malls - last chance, Odyssey....just to name a few...

umm delhi has improved and it definately has its worthwhile moments. i've had a few scorchers here but not as many as in mumbai. some suggestions would be orange- on the right night- which varies, elevate-noida for a big night out and there are a few smaller options but earlier post is right on it about gurgaon

budget at least 200-300 USD for a night out at any of the places in Delhi - unless you want to drink Evian - even that won't come cheap

no - thats what average Delhi yuppies spend on a night out.

I was once in the night club at the Park Royal hotel (apparently it has a new name now) at Nehru Place. There was a cover charge of 500 INR per head (this is 5 yrs back). A group (one guy + two girls) sat next tome at the bar paid a bill of 20,000 INR after spending 45 minutes there. That was a couple of rounds of Single Malts and Cognacs.

Just head to the Gold Regency for a few beers, and a good laugh at the really cheesy disco - it's 70s-tastic!

Alternatively,if you are there during winter, try one of the following:

1. Go to a tea stall in Old Delhi at night and have a glass of tea late at night

2. Have Icecream at India Gate at Midnight on a December/January night

3. Go outside Delhi to Murthal (on the road to Chandigarh) and have a late night meal with a bottle of Rum in one of the Dhabas

Fantastic "Nightlife" experience - all of them.

had some drinks there but didnt go to the disco...missed out. darn . haha apparently its moved upstairs ?

No idea! It was a couple of years since I've been there. It was hilariously cheesy then, looked like something out of Saturday Night Fever.
