Well, let's not jump to conclusions just yet.

Let's say this means what it sounds like - the boyfriend has a case of domestic abuse filed against him by his present (or former) wife, rightly or wrongly. This doesn't mean the OP is getting abused. In this country domestic abuse laws strictly correlate to marriage. What's shocking for the OP seems to be that she only found out recently about a) the case or b) the case AND the wife!

Let's wait till she clarifies. Of course, if he's hidden from her that he is/was married even, then hmmm............

Yep. My post gave the wrong impression. Thanks for pointing it out.

I actually meant, "And if anybody is getting abused, that person.. (provided I am right about 498) should walk away now."

I think OP only added that paragraph later, after the Capt. had already written his reply. It originally sounded like she was the subject of it indeed.

Googling around some this is what the law seems to address, and there seem to be plenty of complaints about its abuse (many by men and their families, apparently, go figure). In any case, sounds to me like BF may be caught up in something like that, and OP is trying to come to grips with the ramifications.

No judgments from me on this one... Except to wish OP well no matter what.

Hi yunxi

I am fish from Beijing, I am new to this forum. But it's very interesting to read through the topics and knew there's someone there whom i may turn to. I have an indian bf whom we are having this long distance relationship for one year, and it seemed this will be continueing for another 1 year untill he managed to move to beijing. I am just wondering how the life be there to live in india for an chinese girl? is it very different from our lifes in China?

thanks
fish
