Marriage and Visas

I've been reading the threads on the visas possible for those of us who have married an Indian and wondered if Icetea could give me an update on how she got on with getting the much-talked about X visa. I need to exit India on my tourist visa by mid January when I hope to be able to visit my Mum in England and sort one out for myself.

Has anybody any experience of how easy it is to bring a Muslim Indian into the UK these days as I read such terrible things about rascism following recent events in London and would love to be able to take him with me for a visit next year. Mind you, we're still battling with the authorities here to get him a passport so that may be a mute point .....

Also my own Application for a BRITISH visa thread tells the story of my bringing my Indian partner to UK. In the end, despite my anticipation of difficulty, it was quite simple.

I smiled at your mention of getting you partner his Indian passport: that was by far the worst part of our experience!
