thanks bryan and alan d for the valuable information...
hey avid trekker , sure why not....my bike will get fixed only on the 1st or 2nd week of july...let me know if the dates are flexible...
the yezdi parts can be found all over india...its maintenance is very less but the only drawback is that the mileage varies from bout 20 km to 35km max....lets burn gas and kickass mate...

hash666, can't make it in July. Have planned a trek in the Parvati Valley (start at Manikaran; cross the Pin-Parvati Pass & subsequently the Pin-Bhaba Pass ending at Sarahan) roughly from 10th Sept to say abt 21 days. (If my friends ditch, I am not planning to go alone) If it coincides with these dates, I could think of joining you in a drive thru Kinnaur, Spiti, Lahaul, Ladakh. We could go to the remotest places !!!

Jeez! My tour of duty in the Parvati valley ended up with me getting a beating from two psycho cops who threatened me with a long holiday in Kullu prison. It was the guesthouse owner (a local Don who was obviously in with the Malana cartel) who told the cops to f**k off and leave me alone! What would possess anyone to invest there god only knows. I know that I dont really fancy anymore strangers in the night!!!!!

Seems like the police declared open season on travellers in Jari, four years ago. If you want the details I reckon a PM is in order (cos this thread could end up seriously off-topic) and hash666 might not appreciate it descending into a thread about police brutality.
