Hi Guys and Gals
I was born in Kerala, India and left the country with my family who re-settled with my family in South Africa when I was 13. You guys might ask why South Africa?? But South Africa is a very colorful country with a lot of history and stunning places to visit...I am deviating away from my point. I am currently working in SA as a Business Consultant and will be visitng India in December. Eventhough I have travelled several times to India, it has mostly been limited to within Kerala. So this time around I have decided to travel more outside Kerala before i arrive in my little Kerala. I will be arriving in Mumbai on the 16th and will be flying to Kerala on the 26th.. So I basically have 10 days to do some travelling and this is what my plans looks like at the moment. I will be travelling alone.... 16th Morning: Arrive in Mumbai 17th: Mumbai 18th: Depart in the evening to Jaipur 19th: Arrive in Jaipur 20th: Jaipur 21st: Take train to Agra 22nd: Depart at night to Delhi 23rd: Fly to Mumbai at night 23rd: Night train to Goa from Mumbai 24th: Goa 25th: Goa 26th: Flight to Cochin Does this plan look too ambitious?? How long does it take for the following train journeys and how much does it roughly cost in AC2 or AC chair.. Mumbai - Jaipur Jaipur - Agra Agra - Delhi Mubai - Goa Any travel tips on what to do, what not to do, where to stay (I am not looking for expensive hotels, as long as it is clean and safe, it will do).... Your inputs are highly appreciated. You can also contact me on arun2000@gmail.com Regards Arun |

That doesn't look too ambitious Arun. Others may be able to give you more specific answers to a lot of your questions though, so I'm bumping this back to the front page
Have a great trip

Train Information
Hi Arun, welcome, I tried to find the threads but I couldn't but if you look for threads by beach and steven_ber, they are good for train information and assist with booking trains over the internet.
Enjoy your trip. ![]() |

Welcome to IndiaMike!
Arunbabu_za - A lot of people on this site have travelled alone in India, first-timers and "many-timers" Depending on the kinda person you are - it's up to you whether you'll feel lonely or not. India is amazing, but I don't have to tell you that!!! The people are very friendly too. You'll have an absolute blast - but you have plenty+ questions to ask so we're all here waiting...............go ahead..... Have fun and enjoy..........you'll be back to ma India, without a doubt!!!

Hi
Thanks for your encouraging words!! I am sure I will have a good time in India.. I have been looking forward to this for a long time. I want to mix my trip with quiet periods and some partying as well... So if you guys have tips on where to hangout in Mumbai and Goa it will be great. I have heard that some places are difficult to get in to if you are not with a partner!!!! This site has been really great so far and very infromative.. Till later Arun |
