If you scroll down, there are a couple of threads under "Similar threads' on homeschooling, and in Chennai too.

We have used both structured and unstructured curriculum. A lot depends on the individual learner and parents as to what they are comfortable with..

After a couple of years messing around with Charter home schools (potentially lots of money for school supplies but often bureaucracy & broken promises) we went off on our own. We filed as a private school at first with friends serving as "officials" but then just stopped it altogether as my boy began to make real strides & win prizes. We used the Hirsh book on what each grade should know & supplemented that with what we felt suitable especially math. This only goes up to about the 8th grade. Both parents are teachers & his mother is an inspired math teacher although his first lessons, age 1-2, were given by me. Unfortunately, it had the surprise effect later on of him changing from Physics to Math & Computer Science. He consoles me with the 6 scholarships he won. Our confidence & direction changed over time so I would plan on flexibility. The Boston School has a formal plan that we thought about but was too rigid for us. K-12 only had 1-8 (at that time) when we needed high school. But, it had lots of bells & whistles while being reasonably secular. This avoided any conflict between the parents. But, in the end he just started college locally although he was a year ahead of their level. He should finish Berkeley at 19. However, graduate school beckons..
